As a kid, I spent hours, nights and even weekends playing video games. My second room was the living room. Where my game consoles where set to the biggest TV in the house and if I wasn't there I would be on my gameboy. These games were what 11 year old me played and beat the most.
Christmas of 1998; I wanted Pokemon Red, but was given both. I was hooked on these games so bad that when it was bed time, I would hear bleeps and bonk noises as if the game was on, but was just noises stuck in my head. I long grew out of Pokemon, but I still remember a ton about these classics.
The music in this game was so good, I would just puase it and vibe out doing other things. Another game I beat many times just because of how simple and fun it was to catch those Apes with Gadgets. When Sony released it for Playstation Plus, I had to download it.
11 year old me was mind blown by the entire presentation of this game, back then. This was also given to me for Christmas and the plot takes place on Christmas Eve. This game tuaght me more about mitochondria than science class and always will be a classic that square enix nead to remaster, like Final Fantasy VII.
This game was the blueprint to what started it all(Melee). Tournaments, game fans playing their favorite characters and tons of competitve fun. I would kick everyones butt in this game and put in too many hours playing it. After Melee, I fell off, got older and never really played games as much after that time. Though this was my go to game for the simple fun factor, when playing it.
